BREAST LIFT

For a beautiful décolleté.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight loss or the natural aging process can cause the breasts to sag. The skin loses elasticity and tone during this process. Many women find this development detrimental to their aesthetic sense and they lose self-confidence. In the worst case, sagging or saggy breasts become a psychological burden.

Affected women feel inhibited in their everyday life and in their sex life – a breast lift, also called mastopexy, can help.

Consultation

Before performing the surgery, we will have detailed consultations to determine the best approach for you. First, however, we need to assess whether a surgical breast lift is the right option for your needs.

Surgical Technique

The surgical technique is similar to breast reduction. By removing excess skin and tightening the remaining tissue, we restore the natural shape of your breasts. Connective and glandular tissue are typically preserved to enhance the breast’s contour. The scar pattern depends on the technique used, but typically involves a circular incision around the nipple and, if needed, a vertical incision extending to the breast fold.

Healing Process

We remove the stitches around the nipple after one week, and the remaining stitches are removed after two to three weeks. In the first few days following the procedure, it’s important to rest and minimize arm movement. Avoid strenuous activities such as heavy lifting or exercise for a few weeks. During the initial recovery period, you will also need to wear a medical support bra, which helps promote healing and ensures the best possible shape.

1. Before the operation

Preliminary discussion: What needs to be considered during a breast lift?
Before we operate on you, we will conduct intensive preliminary discussions and find the perfect surgical method for you. First, however, we must determine whether a surgical breast lift is suitable for you.

For a successful breast lift, the following requirements should be met:

The patient's growth and thus the development of the breast should be completed.

After weight loss, your weight should remain relatively constant to achieve the best possible results. Weight fluctuations can negatively affect the result.

Ideally, family planning is already complete. A breast lift can, under certain circumstances, affect the ability to breastfeed. The physical changes during a new pregnancy also affect the lifted breasts.

As the conversation continues, we will clarify whether the breast should simply be tightened or whether we should combine the procedure with a breast reduction or breast enlargement. Both are usually possible without any problems. We will provide you with comprehensive information about the recommended surgical technique, the procedure and possible complications.

2. Methods

surgical technique
The surgical technique is similar to breast reduction. The external shape of your breast is restored by removing excess skin tissue and tightening the skin. Connective and glandular tissue are usually not removed, but are used to optimize the shape of your breast. The course of the scar depends on the technique used; usually a circular suture runs around the nipple and - if necessary - from there vertically to the breast fold.

The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and takes about two hours. To ensure optimal care, you will remain in our clinic for one to two days after the operation.

3. After the operation

Medical support bra
We remove the stitches around the nipple after just one week; the others after two to three weeks. In the first few days after the operation, you should take it easy and move your arms as little as possible. Avoid physically strenuous activities such as hard work or sport for a few weeks. In the first few weeks after the operation, you will also wear a medical support bra, which promotes wound healing and helps to achieve the ideal shape.

We also recommend that you sleep on your back for the first few weeks to protect your breasts.

The breasts, which initially stand out a little, sink after a short time and the scars also fade in the first few months. You can look forward to firm breasts and a sensational cleavage.
